NO PETROL FOR HOLIDAY EXCURSIONS

The following official notice was issued Tuesday evening:

“In order that the supplies of petroleum spirit may be devoted the greatest extent possible to war purposes, it is important to effect every possible economy in consumption.  It will not be practicable, therefore, to make allowances for spirit for vehicles used for holiday excursions.

“The Minister of Munitions thinks it necessary to make this announcement in good time to minimise inconvenience to societies, clubs, munitions workers, etc, in respect of their holiday arrangements.”
