Olive Marjorie GUTHRIE (1890-1963)

Olive Marjorie Guthrie (1890-1963), was a neighbour in Richmond of Mary Anna Robinson who was the sister of Eugénie Sladden.

Olive Guthrie was born at 34 Lancaster Park, Richmond, on 2nd July 1890, the third of five children of John Alexander Guthrie, a merchant, and his wife, Alice Caroline (née Rolph).  Her father died when she was ten years old.  The family then moved to 3 Royston Gardens, 55 Mount Ararat Road.

Olive did not marry.  She became an Assistant Inspector in the Civil Service.  In the 1920s, she lived with her sister, Elsie, at 47A Longley Road, Tooting.  At the time of the 1939 register, Olive and her two sisters, Elsie and Beryl, all unmarried and all working for the Civil Service, lived with their widowed mother at 2 Berrylands, Surbiton Hill, Surrey.

Olive died on 30th October 1963 at Highfield Nursing Home, 130 Stanley Road, Teddington.  Her home address was 8 Surbiton Hall Close, Kingston upon Thames.
