MISS J M BENNETT – MR A D DRIVER

Two Vicars – the Rev W B Chapman of Badsey and the Rev W E J Lindfield of Sedgeberrow – officiated at the wedding of Miss June Margaret Bennett, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs F Bennett of 31 Synehurst, Badsey and Mr Albert Donald Driver, only son of Mr & Mrs A G Driver of Trebor, Sedgeberrow, at St James’ Church, Badsey, on Easter Monday.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a white brocade dress with lace panels and she carried a boutquet of white carnations and trailing fern.

She was attended by a bridesmaid, Miss Sylvia Mary Driver, the groom’s sister, and by a page, Master Anthony Bennett.

Carrying a bouquet of pink tulips and freesias, Miss Driver wore blue brocade, the little page wearing a white frilled blouse, long black corduroy trousers and black patent leather shoes.  The best man was Mr William John Bennett.  Organist at the choral service was Mrs T Marshall.

Over 90 guests attended a reception at The Royal Oak, Badsey, Mr & Mrs Driver leaving for a honeymoon at Weymouth.  The bride travelled in an olive green suit with pink accessories and a loose-fitting white coat.

They received numerous presents including a cheque from the bride’s employers, Messrs Smith & Roberts (solicitors), Evesham.
