My darling Husband,

I was glad to hear from you this morning & hope you had a fine day for your visit to Deal.  I am getting stronger & feel pretty well, I shall be glad to get on the sofa; Charlie is very anxious to continue some ideas of carrying me downstairs on Xmas Day, but I don’t think it will be feasible.  Papa will be here till Saturday week, so you will see him when you come on Saturday.

I wrote to Phillis the other day & sent word about the turkey.  Today I have written to Miss Savory & Mrs Hunt & sent Christmas cards.  You must excuse a short letter today, as I feel rather tired of writing.

My love to all & with much for yourself.

I am
Your loving wife

Eugénie N Sladden
