George Asser GEPP (1889-1988)

George Asser Gepp (1889-1988) was the son of the Vicar of Badsey.

George Gepp was born on 12th September 1889 at Badsey Vicarage, the fourth of five children of the Reverend Charles Granville Gepp by his third wife, Alice (née Wallington).  He was baptized at Badsey on 15th September 1889.

In 1897 the family moved to Wood Norton, Norfolk.  At the time of the 1901 census, George was a boarder at a school in Surrey Street, Norwich.  George’s father died in 1903 when he was 13 years old and the family moved to 192 Unthank Road, Norwich.

Following in the footsteps of his older brother, Lancelot, George left England in 1907 to go and work in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

George married Rita Wright on 20th June 1912.

In 1949, George and Rita Gepp came home on leave for several months.  They arrived in the UK on 2nd May then were recorded on a passenger list leaving Dover for Rio de Janeiro on 21st October.  Their address was 21 Unthank Road, Norwich, and George was described as a Manager.

George died in Rio de Janeiro in1988.
