Worcestershire - Evesham: Coulters

Coulters was a carriage building shop based at 10 Market Place, Evesham.  The shop had been in existence since the 1850s.

At the time of the 1911 census, 62-year-old William Ralph Coulter described himself as a carriage builder and cycle and motor agent.  It was his father, John Coulter, who had set up the original business in the late 1850s, having moved to Evesham from Claines.  In 1861 he employed three men; by 1871 he employed five men and two boys.
