Details of Will

I, Thomas Roberts, citizen and Leather seller of London, being sick and weak in body but of sound rational and disposing mind and memory, give:

  • To John Crow, vintner, all my household goods and £40 in trust to and for only separate use of Rose Bonell wife of Arden Bonell, citizen and barber Chirngoon of London towards her better maintenance and livelihood without the control or intermeddling of her said husband and that the same shall not be subject or liable to his debts or engagements money wise which said sum of £40 I will order and appoint shall be paid by my brother Nathaniel Roberts my executor hereinafter named out of my personal estate and if need be out of all my messuages lands tenements and hereditaments whatsoever situate lying and being in Badsey in the county of Worcester now in the tenure or occupation of Gerrard Stephens (which I have hereinafter given and devised unto him subject to the payment of the said £40) and that within two years next after my decease and for non-payment of the said £40 whithin two  years it shall and may be lawful to and for the said John Crow his executors or administrators to enter into and upon the said messuages lands tenements and hereditaments in Badsey and the same to hold and keep and the rents issues and profits thereof to have receive and take until the said £40 shall be levied raised
  • I declare it to be my will and mind that the receipts of the said Rose Bonell alone without her husband shall be from time to time sufficient discharges both in law and equity to the said John Crow for the delivery and payment of the said household goods and moneys or any part thereof
  • To my loving brother Nathaniel Roberts his heirs and assigns for ever all my messuages and tenements and hereditaments whatsoever situate lying and being in Badsey now in the tenure or occupation of Gerrard Stephens subject nevertheless and liable to and charges and chargeable with the payment of the said £40 for the said John Crow in trust within two years after my decease
  • All the rest and residue of my monies goods chattels and estate I give to my said brother Nathaniel Roberts
