BADSEY WEDDING

The marriage of Mr Solomon John Wheatley, son of the late Mr Horace Wheatley and Miss Kathleen Bessie Robinson, daughter of Mr & Mrs T Robinson of Lower Field Farm, Willersey, too place at St James’ Church on Monday.  The Vicar (Canon W C Allsebrook) officiated.  The service was fully choral and the hymns “Lead us, Heavenly Father, leas us” and “O perfect love” were sung.  The bridegroom is very well known throughout the district and is now employed by the Shropshire, Worcestershire and Staffordshire Electric Power Company at their Stratford branch.  The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr T Robinson Junior, looked charming in a ankle length dress of ivory coloured satin, with long flowing lace veil, and shoes and stockings to match.  Her bouquet was of red and white roses and maiden hair fern.  Miss Robinson (sister) was unfortunately prevented by illness from acting as bridesmaid but the bride was attended by Miss Dorothy Robinson, another sister.  Mr G L Price carried out the duties of best man.  A reception was held at Lower Field Farm.  The honeymoon is being spent in Wales.  Mr & Mrs Wheatley were the recipients of numerous handsome and useful presents.
