William John Newman (1884-1940) lived at The Croft, Hinton-on-the-Green and was described as a Farmer and Market Gardener (own account) in 1939. He grew onions and told how they were harvested and bundled ready for market.  According to a death notice in The Evesham Standard, he died seven months after the programme was made, after an illness of one week.  See also pages 9, 10, 11.
