John Hall wrapped up proceedings by saying that they would finish in a lighter strain.  “There’s nothing many of the men like better than a good old country song and you can often hear singing coming from the village inns in the Vale and good singing at that.”  This was the cue for Henry Sadler to begin a song.

  • Henry Robert Sadler (1880-1966) was a market gardener on his own account.  He was a bachelor who lived with two other bachelor brothers at the house called Bullybrook, Willersey Road, Badsey.  For the broadcast he sang ‘The Farmers Boy’.  See also page 26.
