Ordnance Survey drawings about 1812

Two of these drawings are shown side-by-side to display an area centred on Badsey, Aldington and Wickhamford. The left hand drawing is taken from Pershore, Worcestershire (OSD 217) dated 1811. The right hand section is from Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire (OSD 221) dated 1812. The drawings were probably used to produce the first OS 1 inch to the mile maps. They were produced at about the same time as the enclosure maps for Badsey and Aldington, but are about 30 years earlier than the Wickhamford tithe map, which previously was thought to be the earliest detailed map of that village.
