WEDDING

The marriage took place on Saturday at Christ Church, Esher, of Miss Constance Winifred Statham, youngest daughter of the late Mr A J Statham and Mrs Danver, Newbury, Berks, and Sapper Gordon William Malins, eldest son of Mr & Mrs G D Malins, 22 Synehurst, Badsey.  The vicar of the parish of Esher officiated.

The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr D Robin, looked charming in a powder blue dress with hat to match and wearing a spray of carnations.  She carried an ivory prayer book.  Mr Owen Davies was best man.  The bridegroom, before joining the Forces, was employed by Gordon Russell Ltd, first at Broadway and then in London.  Before leaving this district he showed promise as an amateur footballer, playing first in the Vale of Evesham Junior League for Badsey Rangers Reserves.  Since leaving the district he has played chiefly in the London area.

The honeymoon is being spent at “Tollenead”, Esher.
