1930 wedding – Jack Perkins & Julia Moisey

Julia Louisa Moisey (1906-1985), known as Louisa, aged 23, married John William Perkins (1907-1990), known as Jack, also 23, at St James’ Church, Badsey, on 21st May 1930.  The house is probably Bredon View on Willersey Road where the Moiseys lived.

Louisa was born at Badsey, one of nine children of George Moisey, a market gardener, and his wife, Julia Amelia (née Gardner).  In the photo you can see George Moisey (Louisa’s father) sitting down, and possibly one of Louisa’s sisters, Ethel Moisey.  Jack, a storekeeper, was born at Bretforton, one of ten children of John and Hilda Perkins.  The man at the back is one of Jack’s brothers and the children all from the Perkins family.

Jack and Louisa had four children.  Initially they lived in Badsey, but then moved to Warwickshire where they both ended their days.

This picture was kindly lent to us by Alex Withnall, daughter of Margaret Moisey.
