Donated by Mick Taylor

Michael Raymond Taylor, known as Mick, was born at Aldington in 1944 but lives now at Bowers Hill. He attended Badsey Country Primary School and Prince Henry’s Grammar School, Evesham. He has worked all his life in the building trade.

From 1969-1972, one of Mick’s jobs involved working at the almost derelict Stone House (now called Badsey Hall, 42 High Street); he lived in the house whilst working on it. Mick found six scraps of paper and envelopes under the floor-boards at the house and kept them in case they were of significance. These were donated to the Badsey Society in 2006. He was also given a Poor Rate Book dated 1890, which had come into the possession of Glynda Beames of Mill House, Aldington.

Mick is the author of Minty’s Tales, published by Aldington Residents’ Association, which records growing up in Aldington in the 1940s and 1950s.
