GRIFFIN, Sarah & George - News article 1929, Death of Badsey's oldest inhabitant

Scanned copy of a newspaper article of 1929 recording the death of Mrs Sarah E Griffen (sic - should be Griffin) who died at her home, 5 South View Terrace, Badsey, in her 89th year. Sarah was the eldest daughter of the late Mr John & Mrs Sarah Durham and was born at Cleeve Prior on 28th November1840; married John Nightingale in 1862; then married George Griffen in 1899. Mentions her children by her first marriage, Frank Nightingale and George Nightingale of Badsey and Mrs Benjamin Spragg of Offenham, and her surviving sisters, Miss Rose Durham of Cropthorne and Miss Annie Durham of Offenham. Plus photograph of Sarah and George Griffin, with inscription, "Taken about 1918 in the shed at the back of 5 South View (21 Brewers Lane), Badsey - drinking home-made rhubarb wine!"
