Places

Three important surveys of land ownership in the 19th and 20th centuries give us an indication of how Badsey, Aldington and Wickhamford have developed over the past two centuries:  the Enclosures in Badsey (1815) and Aldington (1808), the Lloyd George Valuation Survey of 1910-1915 and the National Farm Survey of the 1940s.  Maps, auction details and census returns also give us information about places in the village.

Photographs are also an important record.  We have been fortunate in discovering a number of early 20th century photos but, in addition, two major surveys (1960s Badsey; 2008 Badsey and Aldington) were undertaken in the parish, which allow us to see how things have changed over the passing years.
