Photocopy of a newspaper article about William Mustoe of Church View, Badsey, who celebrated his 102nd birthday on Tuesday. William Mustoe was born at Cirencester in 1841 and began work as a plough-boy, lived in Badsey since the 1880s for a long time engaged in market gardening, and then became licensee of The Royal Oak, Badsey. Mentions the Vicar, Canon W C Allsebrook, who conducted a private celebration of Holy Communion and later, five of his six surviving children visited him (one daughter, Mrs Morris, being ill and unable to be present). Bellringers W Sparrow, A Reid, A Taylor, G A King and G Moisey of Badsey, J Perkins and R Jelfs of Bretforton, Kinchin of Mickleton, rang a triple peal. His wife died in 1917; he has 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, five of whom are in the Services: L Mustoe (RAF), Pat Mustoe (ATS), G Mustoe (WAAF), S Mustoe (Royal Navy), Haywood (with the army in North Africa).
