1933 wedding – Constance Crisp, bridesmaid

On 5th August 1933, 26-year-old Stella Mary Crisp married 27-year-old Arthur Edwin Brown (known as Bill) at St James’ Church, Badsey.  There is no photo of the happy couple, but this picture is of Stella’s younger sister, Constance Juliet Crisp (1908-1989), known as Con, who was bridesmaid on the day.  The photo is thought to have been taken outside Vine Lodge (present-day Meadway House, No 11 High Street).

Stella and Con were two of the 11 children of Elijah Crisp, the Badsey postmaster, and his wife, Rose Emily (née Jones), and both were born at Badsey.

With thanks to Pat Goldstraw for allowing us to copy this from her family album.
