Church interior, c1890
The nave of the Church of St John the Baptist in the 1890s picture has the same pulpit and stalls as are there today. There are no War Memorials to the fallen of the Great War or the Second World War, that can be seen in the 2025 picture. In the earlier photograph there is a more elaborate altar and the window behind the altar is of plain glass. The wall between the nave and chancel was in need of some attention in the 1890s. Today, the chancel window is of stained glass and a more elaborate shape, as can be seen in the last photograph. This was installed in July 1905, in memory of the Reverend William Henry Price, who died in 1903.
