Corner Cottage, c1890

What is now known as Corner Cottage is situated at the junction of Manor Road and Golden Lane.  Over the years this building has been either a pair of cottages or a single cottage.  One of the interesting points about the first picture is the building in the distance, further up Manor Road.  That pair of cottages were demolished before 1906 (a photo of the cottages may be seen in the article, Edwardian Wickhamford) and replaced by the present-day 52 and 54 Manor Road, that can be seen in the 2025 picture.

Corner Cottage itself was considerably altered in the early 20th century when it was owned by George Lees-Milne, who lived in the adjacent Wickhamford Manor.  Another addition is the high stone wall around the cottage garden.
