BADSEY – DRAMATIC ENTERTAINMENTS

We would draw attention to the final announcement in another column of these entertainments to be given at Badsey on Thursday next, in aid of the fund for the repairs of Wickhamford Church.  The object is one that appeals to all who are interested in the preservation of our ancient churches.  Wickhamford Church is sadly in need of many important repairs, and a considerable sum is required to carry out the work in  a substantial manner.  The performances on Thursday afternoon and evening consist of the comedy, “One of You Must Marry”, which is likely to prove one of the most amusing things seen on the local stage for a long time, and the comedietta “Sunset” which combines some comic situations with a pathetic conclusion.  There is ample scope for talent in both pieces, and judging from the names of the amateurs who have undertaken the parts we anticipate excellent representations and a successful pecuniary result.  Some high-class musical items, vocal and instrumental, will be given between the plays, both of which are to be performed at the afternoon as well as the evening entertainment.
