MRS S A ALLARD, BADSEY 

The funeral of Mrs Sarah Ann Allard of 10 Synehurst, Badsey, took place at Badsey on Wednesday week, a service in St James' Church preceding interment in the churchyard. The service was conducted by the Rev A  Fraser, and Mrs G W Marshall was at the organ for the singing of the hymn, “Abide with me”. 

The mourners were Mr & Mrs L Perkins, Mr & Mrs S Gresty (sons-in-law and daughters), Mr D Gresty, Miss Ann Grestv (grandchildren), Mrs E Roberts, Mrs H. Finch (sisters), Mr H Finch (brother-in-law), Mrs P Gisbourne (niece), Mr & Mrs A Halford (nephew and niece), Mrs E Clack (cousin), Mrs O Harris, Mrs A Beasley. Mrs W Gardner, Mrs F Bott, Mr & Mrs P Hemming, Mrs W H Churchley, Mrs T Walters (friends). Also present were several members of the Mothers' Union who lined up the church path as the cortege entered the church and several friends. Many beautiful floral tributes included one from the Mothers' Union. 

Mrs Allard, who was 73, died in Ronkswood Hospital on the Friday previously. She had resided in Badsey for 51 years and was one of the oldest members of the Mothers' Union. She was an ardent church worker and a regular worshipper at St James's Church before her illness. For some years she was a member of the local Women's Institute. Her husband predeceased her seven years ago. She is survived by two daughters.
