BADSEY FUNERAL

The funeral of Mrs Hannah Perkins of 5 Synehurst, Badsey, took place at Badsey on Thursday week, the service in St James' Church being conducted by the Vicar (Rev W B Chapman). Chief mourners were:  Mr Jim Perkins, Mr Jack Perkins (sons), Miss N Perkins, Mrs E Grove, Mrs M Knight, Mrs L Harman (daughters), Mrs Jim Perkins (daughter-in-law), Mr W Knight, Mr W Harman (son-in-law), Mr Harry Perkins (grandson), Mrs T Perkins, Mrs S Crump (sisters-in-law), Mrs Prescott, Mrs R Rouse (nieces) and Mr Crump (nephew). Mrs Perkins, who died the previous Sunday, was the widow of the late Mr Jim Perkins and was 82 years of age. It was while working as cook at Aldington Manor for the late Mr Savory, that she met Mr Perkins, and they were married at Badsey in 1887. Upon their marriage they settled in Badsey, but Mr Perkins predeceased Mrs Perkins about 18 years ago. Mrs Perkins is survived by two sons and four daughters.
