Friday 25 March 1955 – Funeral of George Henry Crane

MR G H CRANE 

The funeral took place on Monday at Badsey Church, of Mr, George Henry Crane of 9 Synehurst, Badsey, who died on Thursday week at Avonside Hospital, Evesham. Aged 72, Mr Crane was the son of the late Mr & Mrs John Crane of South Littleton. He is survived by his wife, four sons and eight daughters. 

The funeral service was conducted by the Rev W B Chapman and the organist was Mrs G H Marshall. The coffin was borne by members of the Ernie Thomas RA0B Lodge of which Mr Crane had been a member for 22 years. 

Family mourners were: Mrs G Crane (widow). Mr R Crane, Mr W Crane. Mr & Mrs G Crane and Mr & Mrs N Crane (sons and daughiers-in-law), Mrs D Porter, Mrs P Briscoe, Mr & Mrs Emms, Mr & Mrs Crook, Mr & Mrs Suc,. Mr & Mrs Hitchcock. and Mr & Mrs S Jobson (daughters and sons-in-law), Mr N Porter and Mr D Eckles (grandsons), Mrs H Dungworth (sister), Mrs C Crane and Mrs Hall (sisters-in-law), and the Mustoe family. 

Others present in church Included Bert Evans, Les Mustoe. R Welch, J Welch, C J Byrd and G A King.

Funeral arrangements were by Mr W E Williams, Swan Lane, Evesham. 

The following week, an erratum was published in the newspaper edition of 1st April 1955:

LATE MR G H CRANE – The late Mr George Henry Crane of 9 Synehurst, Badsey, whose death was reported in our last issue, was the son of the late Mr & Mrs John Crane of Silk Mills, Badsey, and not South Littleton as erroneously stated in our report.
