ALDINGTON, LATE MR P COTTRELL

Mr Percy Cottrell who passed away suddenly at the Avonside Nursing Home last Saturday was a well-known figure at both Aldington and Badsey. The second son of the late Mr & Mrs Levy Henry Cottrell of King's Heath, Birmingham, he was a native of King's Heath, and was educated at Studley Grammar 'School. Held in high esteem by all who knew him. Mr Cottrell for the past 15 years resided with his cousin, Mr W H Butler of Aldington Manor. He was of independent means and although he suffered from serious deafness he was always of a cheerful disposition. Owing to this infliction he never took part in social activities, but as a hobby he worked about an acre of market garden land at Badsey. He had recently been in failing health. He never married and is survived by one sister. Aged 65 he was buried on Wednesday in the family grave at King's Heath, Birmingham.
