MARRIAGE OF MISS C BYRD AND MR W CREECH

A very pretty wedding took place at St James’ Church on Wednesday last week between Mr Dennis Walter Creech, son of Mr & Mrs J Creech of Brislington, Bristol, and Miss Christabel Byrd, daughter of Mr & Mrs W H Byrd of 3 Cotswold Terrace, Badsey.  The officiating clergyman was the Rev W C Allsebrook, Vicar and Rural Dean.

The bride was given away by her father, looked very pretty in a dress of white schappe-de-chine with panels of radium lace, and white shoes and stockings.  She wore a wreath and veil kindly lent by Mrs F J Creech and a string of pearls and carried a sheaf of white chrysanthemums.  Her bridesmaids were Miss Freda Byrd, a sister, and Miss Vera Lawley, a friend.  The bridesmaids wore charming dresses and carried bouquets of coloured chrysanthemums.  They also wore gold brooches, the gifts of the bridegroom.  Mr George Creech, brother of the bridegroom, was best man.  After the ceremony, the bouquets were place on the graves of the bride’s two brothers and sister.

The happy couple received a number of congratulatory telegrams and were the recipients of a number of handsome and useful present.

The reception was held at the bride’s home where many relations and friends assembled.

The married couple, who departed from Badsey on Monday last, will make their home at Brislington, Bristol.
