The wedding has taken place at St James’ Church, Badsey, near Evesham, of Mr Francis Glanville Williams, youngest son of Mr & Mrs W J Williams of Gweek and Miss Winifred Muriel Lucy Taylor, only daughter of Mr & Mrs A J Taylor of 24 Synehurst, Badsey.  Rev J G Jefferys officiated.  The service was choral and the bride’s father took part in the ringing of wedding peals.

The bride, given away by her father, was attended by the Misses Dulcie Williams (sister of bridegroom) and Muriel Lane (bridegroom’s niece).  Mr J Derbyshire (Longton) was the best man, and Messrs W Hocking and W Christophers (both of Gweek) were the ushers.

The bridegroom, who is well-known in the Meneage district, was for over six years in the RASC.  He was a former playing member of Gweek Silver Band and was a member of Gweek Methodist Church.

Among the many presents was one to the bride from the teachers and scholars of the Sunday School.

Mr & Mrs Williams will reside in Badsey.
