RAOB EXALTATION – Mr C H Tutton Honoured at Badsey

Lodges from various parts of the Worcestershire Province gathered at the Ernie Thomas Lodge, Badsey, in the Royal Oak Assembly Room for the exaltation of Brother C H Tutton to the Second Degree.  Brother C J Bird, KOM, occupied the “Royal Chair” and visiting lodges included the Earl of Coventry Lodge, Simon De Montfort Lodge (Evesham), Gainsborough Lodge (Campden), Gatehouse Lodge (Honeybourne), Cheltenham Star Lodge (Cheltenham) and several Worcester lodges.

Over 60 Brothers were present when the Provincial Grand Primo of Worcestershire, Brother F Dowdeswell (Evesham) together with Brothers H Edwards, DPGP, C Turner, PPGP, W P Woodward, IPPGP, C G Crump, PPGP, T Swain, PPGP, J Jones PG Sec, L Morris, PG Ch, G E Osborne, PG Ty, J Boleyn, PG Reg, A Adams, PGAJ, officers of Provincial Grand Lodge, took over for the ceremony.

Afterwards Brother Dowdeswell congratulated Brother Tutton and the Ernie Thomas Lodge.  Brother C Tutton in reply thanked the Provincial Grand Primo and his officers and paid tribute to the Ernie Thomas Lodge.

Harmony followed the toast of “Absent brethren”, singers and artists being Brother Peter King, J Steed, J Sutton, T Dodsworth, Syd Knight (violin), Ted Clarke (monologues).  Pianists for the evening were Brothers G White, J Burne and A Merrett.  Refreshments were provided by the host and hostess, Brother L and Mrs L Mustoe.
