BADSEY – A POLICE BRIDEGROOM

The marriage took place on Saturday last of Doris Cynthia Hatcher, the youngest daughter of Mr & Mrs B H Hatcher of The Laurels, Bretforton Road, and Augustus Noel Gregory, eldest son of Mr & Mrs A Gregory, of Park Road, Redditch, a police officer stationed at Evesham.  The ceremony was performed by the Vicar (Rev W C Allsebrook, RD).  The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of brown crepe-de-chine, with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of white tulips and maidenhair fern.  She was attended by the Misses Joan, Sylvia and Honor Parish, Handsworth, Birmingham (friends of the bride) who wore dresses of pale green silk with hats to match and carried bouquets of daffodils and maidenhair fern.  P C Wylde of Stourport (a friend) was best man.  A reception was held at the Royal Oak Assembly Room, where between 30 and 40 guests assembled.  These included several of the bridegroom’s fellow members of the Force.  The happy couple were the recipients of a number of useful and beautiful presents.  The future home of Mr & Mrs Gregory will be at 25 Briar Close, Evesham.
