BENNETT-LAMPITT WEDDING
The wedding took place at St Peter’s, Bengeworth, on Saturday last of Miss Winifred Lampitt, youngest daughter of the late Mr John Lampitt and Mrs Lampitt of North Road, Bengeworth, and Mr William Ernest Bennett, eldest son of Mr & Mrs W Bennett of Belmont Terrace, Badsey. The Vicar of St Peter’s (Rev A H Lewis) officiated. The bride was charmingly attired in a dove-coloured costume with shoes and stockings to match, and wore a powder blue hat to tone. Her bouquet was of assorted roses and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sister, who wore an attractive frock of green celanese silk-made, with a flare skirt, a picture hat to match and light shoes and stockings. Her bouquet was of bronze chrysanthemums. A reception was afterwards held at the bride’s home, attended by a large number of friends. Both bride and bridegroom were the recipients of very many valuable and useful presents, the bride receiving several from friends at Messrs Willmotts, where she has been employed for over five years. The bridegroom will continue in the market gardening industry at Badsey, and they will reside in Montfort Street.
