MR E WILKINS OF BADSEY AND MISS J E MALIN OF EVESHAM

The wedding took place at All Saints’ Church, Evesham, on Saturday afternoon, of Miss Jessica Ellen Malin, daughter of Mr & Mrs Charles Malin of 17 Swan Lane, and Mr Edwin Wilkins, son of the late Mr Wilkins and of Mrs Wilkins, 14 Synehurst, Badsey.  The Vicar (Rev E O Burbidge) officiated and the bride was given away by her father.  She made a charming picture in a gown of white suede georgette with dainty pleated trimmings and worn with a veil and wreath of orange blossom.  Her bouquet was of pink tulips.  The chief bridesmaid was Miss Evelyn Chandler (cousin of the bride) who wore a becoming frock of peach coloured silk made with a basque and a hat of biscuit coloured straw.  She carried a bouquet of yellow tulips, the gift of the bridegroom.  There were also two younger bridesmaids – Miss Eunice Jelfs (niece of the bridegroom) and Miss Gweneth Clarke (cousin of the bride).  Little Miss Jelfs was attired in a dainty frock of salmon pink silk trimmed with pleated edging and pale blue ribbon.  Miss Clarke’s dress in pale blue silk was made exactly similarly and trimmed with salmon pink ribbon.  Each wore a pretty net cap finished with a wide band of pink and blue flowers, and each carried a bouquet of yellow tulips, the bridegroom’s gift.  The duties of best man were performed by Mr Percy Wilkins (brother of the bridegroom).  After the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.  The happy pair, who received numerous handsome and useful presents, will reside in Coronation Street, Evesham.
