Miss Winifred Harker and Sapper R V Jones

Miss Winifred V M Harker, only daughter of Mr & Mrs C Harker of 18a Littleworth Street, Evesham, was married at St Laurence Church, Evesham, on Saturday to Sapper Ronald V Jones (RE), second son of Mr & Mrs F C Jones OF Badsey.

The ceremony was conducted by the Vicar of Badsey, Canon W C Allsebrook, assisted by the Vicar of Evesham, Canon T Charles Jones.  The bridegroom’s brother, Mr Cecil Jones of Badsey was best man.

Given away by her father, the bride wore a petrol blue coloured costume with accessories to match and carried a bouquet of white carnations, white heather and maidenhair fern.

The only bridesmaid, Miss Ruby Rock, friend of the bride, wore a powder blue two-piece with mustard shade hat and gloves and carried a bouquet of pale pink carnations, white heather and maidenhair fern.

The bridegroom presented the bridesmaid with a gold wishbone pendant and chain with pearls.  A reception was held at the Bridge Café, Evesham.  The couple were the recipients of many useful presents.

Later in the day Mr & Mrs Jones left for Gloucester.

Miss Winifred Violet Mary Harker, only daughter of Mr & Mrs C Harker of 18a Littleworth Street, Evesham, and Mr Ronald V Jones, second son of Mr & Mrs F C Jones of 16 Synehurst, Badsey, were married by special licence at St Laurence Church, Evesham, on Saturday. Canon W C Allsebrook, RD (Vicar of Badsey) and the Rev Canon T Charles Jones (Vicar of Evesham) officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a petrol blue costume with accessories to tone and carried white carnations and white heather. She was attended by a friend, Miss Ruby Rock, who wore a powder blue two-piece suit, with mustard coloured accessories and carried a bouquet of pale pink carnations with white heather. Mr Cecil Jones (brother of the bridegroom) was best man, and the ceremony was followed by a reception at the Bridge Cafe, Evesham. Mr & Mrs Jones received many useful and handsome gifts.
