BADSEY WEDDING
The marriage took place at St James’ Church on Saturday of Miss Lucy Hall, eldest daughter of Mr Percy Hall and late Mrs Hall of Homeleigh, Badsey, and Mr George Edward Addis, second son of the late Mr & Mrs Charles Addis of High Street, Badsey. The ceremony was performed by the Vicar (Canon W C Allsebrook). The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a beige-coloured two-piece suit, trimmed with nigger brown. She also wore hat and shoes to tone. The duties of best man were performed by Mr George Grove. A native of Badsey, the bride come of a well-known family, her father being an old and well-known player of the Badsey Rangers Football Club. The bride had taken a keen interest in the present Club by assisting at all their social functions. After leaving school she lived for some years at Cheltenham but later returned home to take an active interest in the social life of village. She is a member of the Badsey Women’s Institute and a member of the Dramatic team which has done so well in competition. She is also a member of the Girls’ Friendly Society and a worker for the local Cricket Club. The bridegroom, who is also very well known in the parish, was a t one time a playing member of the Badsey Rangers reserve eleven. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, while later in the day the happy couple left for their honeymoon which was spent at Birmingham. The bride travelled in a nigger brown coat with hat and shoes to match. Mr & Mrs Addis were the recipients of numerous and useful prdsents including one from the Badsey cricket Club and another from Mr J Barnard (the bridegroom’s employer). Mr & Mrs Addis will make their future home at The Nook, Badsey.
