BRETFORTON MAN WEDS
Mr W F Cleaver and Miss D B Jelfs

The marriage took place at St Andrew’s Church, Boreham, Essex, of Miss Dulcie Beatrice Jelfs, elder daughter of Mr & Mrs W H Jelfs of Lion End Cottage, Boreham, late of Badsey, and Mr William Frederick Cleaver, second son of Mr & Mrs S Cleaver of Clayfield, Bretforton.

The service, which was choral, was conducted by the Rev Dobree, Vicar of Boreham, the hymns being “Lead us Heavenly Father, lead us” and “The voice that breathed o’er Eden”.  As the couple left the church, the Wedding March was played.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a rose pink crepe dress with navy blue hat, shoes and gloves to tone.  She was attended by her sister, Miss Mavis Jelfs, who was dressed in a blue crepe-de-chine dress with pink accessories.  The bride carried a bouquet of yellow tulips and fern while the bridesmaid’s was a posy of pink tulips and fern.  Mr George Jelfs, brother of the bride, was best man.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, many guests being present.  Mr & Mrs W F Cleaver received many useful presents.
