The booklet contains inscriptions taken from the churchyard, monuments, floors and windows of the churches of All Saints and of St Lawrence. Graveyard inscriptions and dedications were derived from the original handwritten document compiled by E A Barnard from the gravestones in the churchyard present in 1899 (many gravestones were removed and destroyed in the 1960s). Some later descriptions have been added by other contributors. The inscriptions on the monuments and windows in All Saints’ Church were compiled by Mr J W R Turner with descriptions taken from the leaflet written by the Reverend Mark Powell. Those in St Lawrence Church were compiled by Mr K G Perkins. The lists of Abbots and Vicars were from plates in the two churches. It also includes the list of 149 inscriptions which, in 1845, were readable on the floor of the church (taken from George May’s book on Evesham), but at the time of the massive restoration of the church in the 1870s, the floor was excavated and a concrete surface added effectively removing all the inscriptions.
