Miss I G Sandford and Mr A Westwood

Wearing an ankle-length gown of white figured satin and a white veil and wreath, and carrying a shower bouquet of pink roses and maidenhair fern, Miss Irene Georgina Sandford, daughter of Mr W Sandford and the late Mrs Sandford of Badsey, Evesham, was married in St James’ Church, Badsey, on Monday, to Mr Albert Westwood, eldest son of the late Mr Westwood and Mrs Westwood of Birmingham, and formerly of Cowl Street, Evesham.

The bride was given away by her father.  The elder bridesmaids, Miss Annie Sandford (sister) and Miss Nancy Westwood (sister of the bridegroom), were attired in gowns of green silk and black picture hats.  They carried bouquets of mixed roses and chrysanthemums.  The child attendants, Miss J Sandford (niece of the bride) and Master Brian Sandford (nephew of the bride) wore outfits of green satin.  The bridesmaids wore bracelets and the page a wristlet watch, the gift of the bridegroom.  A reception was held at the home of the bride’s father.

Mr & Mrs Westwood will live at Wednesbury.
