The marriage of Miss Lilian Margaret Woodward, only daughter of Mr and the late Mrs Woodward of Cotswold Terrace, and Mr Cyril James Freeman, only son of Mr and the late Mrs Freeman of Cowl Street, Evesham, was solemnized at St James’ Church, Badsey, on Saturday.

The ceremony was performed by the Vicar, Canon Allsebrook.  The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a dress of gold moire taffeta with hat and accessories to tone.  She carried a bouquet of gold rose buds, which was afterwards placed on her mother’s grave.

She was attended by her cousin, Miss Irene Sadler, who wore a dress of green more taffeta with hat and accessories to tone, and carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums.

On leaving the Church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by Master Brian Jennings.  The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Alan Langstone.  A reception was held at the home of the bride for about 40 relatives and friends.

The honeymoon is being spent in London.  Mr & Mrs Freeman’s home will be at 7 Cotswold View, Badsey.
