John Poole took out a new mortgage with the Misses Lowe for £800:
Firstly All that messuage or dwelling house recently erected by the said John Poole together with the barn, stable, pigstys and other outbuildings and the garden thereunto adjoining and belonging and also those two closes, pieces or parcels of arable land (formerly one close) adjoining the above mentioned premises called or known by the name of “The Netherfield Closes” containing by admeasurement 6a 21p or thereabouts (excepting thereout a piece of land containing 656 square yards or thereabouts conveyed to Mr Henry Geden by indenture dated 11th March 1897 and bounded on the east as to the greater part by land belonging to and in the occupation of Mr Wiliam Smith and as to the remainder by The Royal Oak Inn lately sold by the said John Poole to Messieurs Sladden & Collier Ltd, on the south as to part by the said Royal Oak Inn and as to the other part by the High road leading from Evesham aforesaid to Campden, on the west by a lane leading from Badsey aforesaid to South Littleton and on the north and north-east by a brook called “Aldington Brook”, all which said lands, tenements and hereditaments are situate lying and being together in the parish of Badsey in the county of Worcester and are now and have been for many years in the occupation of the said John Poole
And secondly, all that piece or parcel of arable or garden land containing by admeasurement 8a 1r 6p or thereabouts, formerly part of two pasture fields called or known as Lower Piece and Salter Street and Big Ground respectively situate in the parish of Badsey in the county of Worcester which said piece of land with its dimensions and abuttals is more particularly delineated and described in the plan drawn on the third page of an indenture dated the 29th September 1897 and made between Arthur Herbert Savory of the one part and the said John Poole of the other part.
Various memos were appended:
- November 1933 – The whole of the mortgage money, £800, and interest secured by the mortgage dated 30th September 1897 from John Poole to the Misses Lowe now belongs to Miss Louisa Anne Lowe solely, she being the survivor of the four above-named persons, and the shares in the said mortgage money having been taken by her as part of her share in their respective estates.
- 9 August 1938 – by a deed of dedication between Edith Alice Kerr of the first part, Thomas Tricker Lowe of the second part and the Worcestershire County Council of the third part, two small strips of land containing 346 sq yds and forming part of the frontage of the within described property were dedicated to the use of the public so as to form part of the highway.
- 29 August 1938 – £230 was paid by Edith Alice Kerr in reduction of the mortgage.
- 18 January 1940 – £50 was paid by Edith Alice Kerr in further reduction of the mortgage.
- 11 December 1940 – £130 was paid by Edith Alice Kerr in further reduction of the mortgage.
