My Dearest Wife,

I will just drop you a line by this morning’s post as it will not be of much use writing afterwards.  I was glad to have your letter this morning and will order a fly and meet you at Evesham station at 7.25 p.m. on Monday, we are all looking forward to having you home again, darling.

The chicks enjoyed their afternoon at the Byrchs, George did not mind being left alone.  I am glad you will see Polly, they have just ordered some claret of us, this was Charlotte’s doing.  Give my love to Fanny and the Gloucester House circles.  Kiss Ethel for me and tell her I received her letter all right.

With fondest love

I am as ever
your affectionate Husband

Julius Sladden
