My dearest Wife,

I hope Ethel had a good journey and will have a nice rest at Torquay, she will have brought all the news up to this morning.

As Kathleen felt a little dubious about Whooping cough, as regards Judy I thought I would call and ask Dr Beresford Jones to look in, he has been now and is inclined to think it is not but says he cannot be sure as he did not hear her cough, he examined her and found her chest all right but said there was a little bronchial catarrh in the larger tubes, he says there is a lot of this about caused he thinks by the cold wind and dust, he says she is better in bed for a day or two and will call again Saturday or Sunday, he thinks she will soon be all right again so you need not be in the least anxious about her and she is quite cheerful.

We are pleased to hear about your getting out so much and probably the East wind is not so noticeable with you as with us.

Everyone is crying out for rain and it is badly wanted.  I have pruned all the rose bed but the big patch of teas and that is just begun.

I think I must write May a few lines now, much love dear,

Your loving Husband

Julius Sladden
