HARTWELL, Raymond Percy Marstone (1895-1943) – Worcestershire Regiment/Machine Gun Corps

Private Raymond Percy Marstone Hartwell (1895-1943) served in the 9th Worcestershire Regiment (No 30231) and then the Machine Gun Corps (No 177271).  He was awarded only the British War medal.

In 1911, Raymond  Hartwell was 15 and living with his widowed mother, Emily, in Manor Road and employed as a farm labourer.  His name appears on a list of Worcestershire Regiment men who were absent voters in 1919 and from the village of Wickhamford.
