Case for exemption
Mr Roberts represented Ernest E Mustoe, market gardener, Badsey, who appealed on his own behalf and also on behalf of George Crane, in his employ. Mr Mustoe said he was 40, and married. He had 10½ acres of meadow land. Crane was the only man he had. He had previously given conditional exemption, but this had been altered to temporary exemption till May 1918. Mustoe had five children, and Crane, who was 35 years of age, had eight children.
