Mr Geoffrey New appeared for Henry Halford, occupying 5 acres of land at Pitcher's Hill. Applicant had served with the 8th Worcesters since September 1909 and had been discharged after serving for more than a year in France. His brother, Charles, who was appealing that day, had managed his land as well as he could with the help of a man named Willoughby, but Willoughby had been called up and Charles had all he could do to manage his own land. He had another brother Frank who was going directly. He had four brothers in the Army, and was looking after 3 acres for his brother Horace. He had no father or mother.
