Mr Knight, who died suddenly after working in his garden, will be missed by his many friends in Badsey. As faithful communicants both he and his late sister, Dorothy, made a great contribution to local church life in the few years that they lived in Badsey. There are occasions when the faith of a Christian removes from death its grimness; Vernon Knight's own faith and practice was of that sort. RIP. The October 1973 Parish Magazine noted: "The late Mr Vernon Knight, whose death was reported in the last issue of this magazine, made in his will the generous bequest of £100 to the Church. The PCC are at present considering how best to use this gift. The PCC have decided to use the combined collections from the funeral services of Vernon and Dorothy Knight to buy a complete set of new bell ropes, urgently needs for the safety and efficiency of our ringers."
