Burials of Badsey Parishioners not buried at Badsey

The Badsey Burial Registers record only those people whose body or cremated remains were buried at Badsey.  Comparing the Burial Register entries with funeral services listed in the Parish Magazine from the 1950s (when cremation became more popular), it becomes clear that there were many Badsey and Aldington people who were buried or cremated elsewhere.  A number of funeral services took place in the Church of St James but then cremation took place at Cheltenham or Worcester.  Initially, there was just the option of Cheltenham Crematorium, which had opened in 1938 (the 38th in the country) but, by 1960, there was also a crematorium at Worcester.  In 2019, the Vale Crematorium at Fladbury opened.  In addition, the Parish Magazine often noted the death of former parishioners.  A list of the burials/cremations of parishioners whose body or cremated remains were not buried in the parish is recorded below.
