Officers’ Hospital, Basra, 1916

Cyril Sladden was wounded in Mesopotamia in April 1916 and was sent initially to the Officers’ Hospital in Basra where this photo was taken.  He was then transferred to Poona in India, and then went for recuperation in Simla before returning to duty in August 1916.

We are grateful to Ruth Burn (granddaughter of Cyril) for providing us with a copy of this photo.
