Jesse Newbury & Brewer's Bakery

The picture shows Wickhamford resident Jesse Newbury delivering bread for Brewer's Bakery in the mid 1930s.

James Brewer's bakery was established in 1897 and was still operating in Badsey in the 1950s. It has given its name to Brewers Lane where it was based. It delivered bread over a wide area within the Vale. The location of the photograph is unknown.
