WICKHAMFORD WVS KNITTING PARTY

Wickhamford Women's Voluntary Service Knitting Party 1940

A group of the members of the Wickhamford Women’s Voluntary Service Knitting Party photographed by Mr V C Buckley, author of “Stop and Go”, “Happy Countries” etc, when the party were entertained at Wickhamford Manor last week by Mrs G C Lees-Milne as a slight mark of appreciation to the knitters’ industry which has been very capably organized by Mrs Drysdale of Wickhamford.  Mrs Bliss accompanied Mr Bliss (better known as Peter Howard, BBC soloist) who gave a much appreciated rendering of several songs.  To date the party have supplied 440 comforts and 26 WVS badges have been earned.
