LATE MR G W COLE

Aged 63, Mr George William Cole of No 5 Sands Lane, Badsey, died at his home on Thursday week.  Second son of the late Mr & Mrs G Cole of Pinvin, he was born at Welford-on-Avon.  He married Miss Emma Knight, daughter of the late Mr & Mrs C Knight of Badsey.  Throughout his life he was a keen market gardener.  He was a member of the Badsey branch NFU.  He is survived by his widow.

The funeral took place on Tuesday, a service in St James’ Church, Badsey, being conducted by the Vicar, the Rev W B Chapman.  Mourners:  Mrs G W Cole (widow), Mr & Mrs Jack Cole (brother and sister-in-law), Mrs L Harrod (Coventry), Mrs E Jones (Pinvin) (sisters), Mr & Mrs C Davis (brother-in-law and sister), Mr & Mrs W Knight, Mr R Knight, Mr & Mrs C Haines, Mrs J Andrews, Mrs J Ford, Mr C Knight (brother-in-law and sisters-in-law), Mr & Mrs W C Knight, Mr R Knight, Mrs H Bott, Mr W Capener, Mrs D Sollis (nephews and nieces), Mr & Mrs D A Jelfs (cousins) also representing Mr & Mrs W H Jelfs, Chelmsford (uncle and aunt), Mr A Anker and Mrs M Irvine (friends).  Mr W Cole (brother) was unable to attend owing to illness.  The bearers were Messrs Ken Knight, W Capener, H Bott and A Roberts (nephews).  Following the service, cremation took place at Cheltenham.
