PIG CLUB DINNER – The annual dinner in connection with the Pig Club was held at the Wheatsheaf Inn on Tuesday when about 30 sat down to a splendid repast, provided by the hostess (Mrs T Marshall).  Mr G E Jones was in the chair, supported by Messrs G Crisp (Secretary), A Dore, E Crisp and T Marshall.  “Badsey Pig Club” was given by the Chairman, and Mr E Crisp suitably responded.  The Secretary explained the financial position of the Club which, he said, showed a substantial balance in hand.  He also commented on the fact that there had been no claim for the death of a pig for five years.  The position of the Club gave great satisfaction to all members present.  A programme of songs was contributed to by Messrs Lee Bennett, E Shelley, A Salter, T Clarke, G E Jones, W Harwood, G Bearcroft and A Dore.  Mr F Salter was the accompanist.
